Penelope Robin Releases “Llegó la Navidad,” A Festive Two-Song Holiday Project Rooted in Latin Pop and Tradition
Breakout Latin pop artist Penelope Robin continues the holiday season with the release of “Llegó la Navidad,” a festive two-song Christmas collection that blends modern pop with her deep Latin roots. Warm, joyful, and culturally rich, the project captures the essence of December through two perspectives that define her identity: Latin American tradition and U.S.-inspired holiday romance.
The main video from the project, “Llegó la Navidad,” was filmed throughout San Andresito and downtown Bogotá, bringing Colombia’s vibrant Christmas energy to life on screen.
Inspired by Christmas in Colombia and the U.S.
Since relocating to Colombia, Penelope Robin found herself deeply inspired by how the holiday season is celebrated across Latin America.
“Since I moved to Colombia, I was amazed by the way Christmas is lived here—the novenas, family gatherings, and the energy that fills this season inspired me to create this special December project,”Penelope shares.
“I wanted to make these two Christmas songs to share with my audience from the two styles that define me: one, how I’ve experienced Christmas here in Latin America, living in Colombia and connected to my Venezuelan and Cuban roots; and two, how I lived it in the U.S. when I was a child.”
That duality is the heart of “Llegó la Navidad,” a project that feels personal, nostalgic, and universally joyful.
Two Songs, Two Holiday Worlds
The collection is intentionally split into two distinct but complementary tracks, each representing a different cultural Christmas experience.
“Llegó la Navidad” (Cumbia)
Inspired by Colombian Christmas traditions, this song embraces the warmth of neighborhood celebrations, novenas, and family gatherings. With a cumbia-driven rhythm and festive energy, it’s designed to be played loud during December get-togethers celebrating togetherness, joy, and community.
“Eres mi Navidad” (Pop)
Rooted in the romantic Christmas atmosphere of the United States, this pop-forward track captures the emotional side of the season. It’s a song meant to be dedicated to loved ones, partners, and anyone who makes the holidays feel special.
Together, the two songs reflect Penelope Robin’s ability to move effortlessly between cultures and sounds while staying true to her identity.
A Visual Celebration of Bogotá’s Christmas Spirit
The official video for “Llegó la Navidad” adds a vibrant visual layer to the project. Shot around San Andresito and downtown Bogotá, the video highlights the city’s bustling streets, holiday decorations, and everyday moments that define Christmas in Colombia.
The visuals feel authentic and grounded, placing Penelope within the community that inspired the music itself.
Penelope Robin: A Voice Defined by Cultural Duality
With this holiday release, Penelope Robin continues to carve out her space as a Latin pop artist whose music is shaped by movement, heritage, and lived experience. Her Venezuelan and Cuban roots, combined with her upbringing in the U.S. and her current life in Colombia, give her a unique lens, one that resonates strongly with bicultural and global audiences.
“Llegó la Navidad” isn’t just a seasonal release, it’s a reflection of who she is and how she experiences the world through music.
Why “Llegó la Navidad” Matters
