Renowned Puerto Rican rapper Lenny Tavárez was announced as the co-owner of the prestigious women’s basketball team “Las Montañeras de Morovis.” This move marks an exciting partnership between the world of music and sports, aiming to boost and support women’s basketball in Puerto Rico.
The press conference featured key figures such as Lenny Tavárez, the team’s principal owner, Jorge Figueroa Ortiz, and the captain of “Las Montañeras,” Pamela Rosado. The event was moderated by well-known television presenter Tania Mamery.
Jorge Figueroa Ortiz, co-owner of “Las Montañeras de Morovis,” expressed his gratitude: “I am extremely grateful for what’s about to unfold in this 2024 season. During the event, it was revealed that the 2024 season of “Las Montañeras de Morovis” will be dedicated to captain Pamela Rosado, who represented Puerto Rico in the 2024 Paris and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games as the Captain of the National Women’s Basketball Team. Pamela, considered one of the most outstanding players in the history of Puerto Rican basketball, has been a champion multiple times in the local league, has participated in international tournaments, and has led her team in the Olympics, becoming an icon of the sport on the island.

The season will kick off this Sunday, August 25, 2024, with an exciting home game in Morovis against the women’s team from Lares. The game will begin at 6:00 p.m. and promises to be an unforgettable event for basketball fans in Puerto Rico.
