Rauw Alejandro continues to redefine Latin music, and this time, he’s doing it with a sensual bachata twist. While performing to sold-out arenas across Latin America on the final stretch of his record-breaking Cosa Nuestra World Tour, the global superstar surprised fans with the release of his latest music video, “SILENCIO.”
Written and produced by Romeo Santos, the King of Bachata himself, “SILENCIO” marks Rauw’s first-ever bachata track and serves as the fifth song on his acclaimed sixth studio album, Cosa Nuestra: Capítulo 0 (Sony Music Latin). The cinematic video, which fans can watch HERE, beautifully pays homage to the Afro-Caribbean rhythms and sensual dance that inspired the genre.
A Modern Tribute to the Caribbean Sound
Cosa Nuestra: Capítulo 0 debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums Chart and has earned widespread critical acclaim. Publications like Pitchfork hailed it as one of his most “well-crafted” projects with his best vocals to date, while ELLE praised its multi-generational appeal.
Industry leaders have also weighed in with glowing reviews:
“An origin story that demands movement, and Alejandro sounds more comfortable than ever in the spotlight.” – Billboard
“This is undoubtedly music of the Caribbean and its people… a cultural force that can’t be silenced.” – Rolling Stone
From Cosa Nuestra to Capítulo 0: A Legacy in Motion
Cosa Nuestra: Capítulo 0 serves as the official spinoff and origin story of Rauw’s fifth studio album, Cosa Nuestra, a project that has made history and continues to dominate award season.
The original Cosa Nuestra debuted at #1 on the Billboard Latin Albums chart and #6 on the Billboard 200, becoming the first Latin album to chart 15 tracks simultaneously on the Spotify Global Top 200. It’s currently nominated for Album of the Year at the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards and is a finalist for Top Latin Album of the Year at the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards.
Rauw himself is up for 14 Billboard Latin Music Awards, including Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year, and Top Latin Album of the Year, plus two Latin GRAMMY nominations,Best Reggaeton Performance for “Baja Pa’ Acá” (with Alexis y Fido) and Album of the Year for Cosa Nuestra.
