Cuban-born singer-songwriter Mayte officially releases her latest single, “Perry,” a bold, vibrant track that marks a new chapter in her artistic evolution. With lyrics that balance emotional depth and playful confidence, “Perry” is a powerful statement of feminine strength and unmistakable identity—set against a backdrop of urban beats infused with Latin soul.

Produced by Tony Gonzalez, “Perry”  delivers a reggaetón track infused with fashion-forward DNA and a bold message. It’s a tribute to the confident, free, and fierce woman who turns the dance floor into a runway.

The connection between renowned producer Tony González and singer Mayte Purón was immediate and powerful from their very first recording session. The track “Perry” marked the beginning of an ambitious musical project composed of several songs, born from a deep and carefully crafted creative process.

Mayte chose to take the necessary time to explore her artistic vision, clearly define what she wanted to express, and decide the right moment to share it with her audience. This intentional pause allowed her to develop a proposal that is both authentic and true to her essence.

Behind the track is a storyteller with a journey as compelling as her music. Mayte Purón wrote her first song at just 12 years old in Cuba, and she hasn’t stopped since. With more than one hundred songs professionally registered with ASCAP, her career has been defined by an unwavering passion for songwriting and expression. Over a decade ago, she moved to the United States in pursuit of the American dream, continuing to build her body of work and artistic voice.

Throughout her career, Mayte has earned recognition on both national and international stages. She was a finalist in the 6th Monitor Latino Songwriting Competition, with standout entries including “El resumen de mi vida,” “Que te perdone Dios,” and “Si pudiera.” Her song “Vale la pena” also received a nomination in 2010 from the event’s organizers.

With “Perry,” Mayte doesn’t just release another single—she delivers a track meant to resonate, last, and stand on its own.
