Fresh off his first-ever Premios Juventud double nomination, emerging Mexican star Esaú Ortiz drops his new single “Olvidándote”, now available on all digital platforms.
Originally written in mid-2024 as a sad sierreño, “Olvidándote” transforms heartbreak into something unexpectedly uplifting. By fusing regional Mexican soundscapes with funk and disco rhythms, Ortiz created what he calls the perfect song to “dry your tears while dancing and drowning romantic sorrows in alcohol.”
This experimental blend showcases the Monterrey native’s ability to push boundaries while staying rooted in tradition.
The single will appear on Ortiz’s debut studio album DISCONTROL, where he continues to mix regional Mexican and disco influences into a fusion he has dubbed “Retro Bélico.” The title track, released earlier this summer, has already positioned him as one of Mexico’s most exciting new voices.
The release of “Olvidándote” comes as Ortiz celebrates two major career milestones: his first Premios Juventud nominations. He is competing in:
- New Generation – Mexican Music
- Best Alternative Mexican Music for “Triple Lavada Remix” with Luis R. Conriquez, Oscar Maydon, Alemán, and Víctor Mendívil
The awards ceremony will take place on September 25th, airing live from Panama City on Univision. Fans can vote for Esaú Ortiz until September 1st at PremiosJuventud.com.
Just weeks after releasing “Discontrol”, Ortiz continues to prove why he’s one of Mexico’s most viral and innovative artists of 2025. With “Olvidándote”, he solidifies his unique identity as a creator of Retro Bélico, blending nostalgia with modern rhythms to redefine the future of regional Mexican music.
