Abraham Mateo begins 2025 with the release of “Plan de Hoy (Quiero Verte),” his first single of the year, now available on all digital platforms. In this new musical offering, the Cádiz native fully immerses in the intense emotions of heartbreak, creating a song filled with emotion and melancholy.
Written by Abraham Mateo alongside his team of songwriters and produced in collaboration with ULI and Dani Ruiz, “Plan de Hoy” is a pop/rock track that blends the emotional rawness of a breakup with an immersive ’80s atmosphere characterized by subtle synthesizers and a profoundly heartfelt vocal performance.
“This song was born in a very special moment. I wanted to isolate myself from the world and went to a studio in the middle of nature. It was the first song I composed that night,” Abraham shares. “They say first times are unrepeatable, and that’s why this track means so much to me. I want people to connect with it as much as I did while writing it. If you don’t have plans yet, here’s one for you.”
“Plan de Hoy (Quiero Verte)” portrays the emptiness left behind when a love story hasn’t been overcome, the failed attempt to find comfort in other people, and the weight of memories that remain very present.
The release is accompanied by a music video directed by Óscar Fernández and produced by Phoski. Abraham confronts his emotions in a visual journey full of symbolism, nostalgia, and mixed feelings. The audiovisual story reinforces the song’s message: lost love leaves a mark, and sometimes, no matter how hard we try, we cannot leave behind who we once were.
