The World Baseball Classic is stepping deeper into music culture for 2026, and it’s doing so with one of the most influential producers in modern Latin music.

World Baseball Classic Inc. has officially unveiled the tournament’s first-ever original soundtrack, produced by two-time GRAMMY-winning producer Tainy. The three-track project aims to capture the rhythm, intensity, and global spirit of the international tournament, bringing together artists from across multiple music markets to reflect the diverse cultures that define the event.

Leading the project is the tournament’s official anthem, “Make It Count,” a global collaboration featuring Becky GYEONJUN of TOMORROW X TOGETHER, and Myke Towers. The track blends Latin pop, reggaeton, and K-pop influences, mirroring the multinational competition that has become a defining element of the World Baseball Classic.

Distributed by Republic Records, the soundtrack is available across major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, and will be integrated into the tournament’s promotional ecosystem, appearing across MLB and World Baseball Classic social media platforms, in-stadium activations, and broadcast coverage throughout the competition.

The project marks a notable moment for Tainy, who steps into the role of Official Music Producer for the 2026 World Baseball Classic, crafting the tournament’s sonic identity for the first time in its history. Known for helping define the sound of the modern urbano movement through collaborations with artists such as Bad Bunny, Justin Bieber, and Dua Lipa, the Puerto Rican producer brings both technical precision and cross-genre sensibility to the initiative.

Working alongside collaborators Albert Hype and Jota Rosa, Tainy designed the soundtrack to reflect the tournament’s global reach. The three tracks incorporate multiple languages, including Spanish, English, Japanese, and Korean reinforcing the World Baseball Classic’s growing identity as one of the most culturally diverse sporting events in the world.

Beyond the main anthem, the soundtrack expands its global scope with two additional tracks that reflect the cultural ties between baseball and the regions where the sport thrives.

Puerto Rican artist Young Miko contributes “MVP,” a record that channels the pride and competitive energy that baseball carries across the island, a nation that has produced some of the sport’s most celebrated players and most passionate fans.

Meanwhile, Japanese singer-songwriter Fujii Kaze delivers “My Place,” a genre-blending track inspired by Japan’s long-standing dominance in international baseball and its championship legacy within the tournament.

Together, the three songs create a soundtrack that mirrors the emotional stakes of the tournament, where national pride, cultural identity, and elite competition collide on a global stage.

For Major League Baseball, the move represents a broader shift toward deeper cultural integration between sports and music. Global tournaments like the World Baseball Classic increasingly rely on music partnerships to extend their reach beyond traditional sports audiences, tapping into younger fans through artists who command massive digital followings.

The approach reflects a strategy that has become common across global sports properties — from FIFA World Cup anthems to NBA cultural collaborations where music acts as a bridge between sport, entertainment, and identity.

The World Baseball Classic is a special celebration of national pride and elite competition that resonates far beyond the diamond,” said Uzma Rawn Dowler, MLB Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Corporate Partnerships. “By collaborating with a visionary like Tainy to produce our first-ever original soundtrack, we are leaning into the intersection of sports and music to connect with fans on a deeper cultural level.

The 2026 World Baseball Classic will open with Pool C play in Tokyo, Japan, beginning March 4 (Eastern Time) / March 5 locally. The remaining pools will follow shortly after, with games scheduled in San Juan, Puerto Rico; Houston, Texas; and Miami, Florida, setting the stage for another globally watched tournament.

As the Classic continues to expand its cultural footprint, the introduction of a dedicated soundtrack signals something larger than a promotional campaign. It reflects how global sports events are increasingly shaped not just by competition on the field but by the music, culture, and communities that surround them.
